      Exfoliate & prep

      Exfoliate 24 hours before. Skin must be clean, dry and free of moisturiser or deodorant.

      Apply evenly

      Circular motions, working from feet upwards. Go lighter on knees, elbows and ankles. Wash hands straight after.

      Let it develop

      Allow 4–6 hours before showering or swimming so the colour finishes developing.

      Maintain the glow

      Moisturise daily. It's the single biggest factor in whether your tan fades evenly.

      I'm a beginner — which one should I start with?
      Melano Dark. It has no tingle, it's suitable for first-timers and fair skin, and it still delivers a deep tan. Save Melano Maxx for when you've built a base and your usual accelerator has stopped taking you darker.
      Can I use these if I have fair skin?
      Yes — go for Melano Dark. Start with shorter sessions and build your colour gradually. Melano Maxx isn't recommended for fair or sensitive skin.
      Is the Melano Maxx tingle normal?
      Yes. Expect warming, then prickling, then noticeable redness — building over the first ten minutes and settling within twenty to forty. It's a high-intensity formula, so always patch test 24 hours before first use.
      Will either one turn me orange?
      Neither contains bronzers or DHA — the colour is your own melanin. In Melano Dark, beta-carotene pushes the tone away from orange towards a golden bronze.
      Do they contain SPF?
      No. Both are formulated for sunbed use only and offer no protection from natural sunlight. If you're tanning outdoors, always use a dedicated broad-spectrum sunscreen.
      Are they vegan friendly?
